While mechanical keys will continue to be used for years to come, the convenience and often increased security provided by an access control system has become the norm on most of today’s projects. From small, simple, one door systems to complex systems handling thousands of doors and users, access control is based on some fundamental principles. This hands-on course will teach students the basics of access control systems, including the evolution of reader and card technologies, basic software, data collection, access levels, and time zones.
